What if this is God's work?

Mom always wanted me to be a minister. In Mom's tradition, an elder stopped me on the street in Durham, NC, when I was in college. She didn't know me at all, but asked, “When was the last time you’ve been to church?” I told her it had been a while. "You know you're a born minister." I reassured her I knew and added that my pulpit would just be different. She accepted that, smiled and disappeared to find the new location to pay her power bill.

What if this is God's work?

Family, God has blessed us with a biochemical advantage: melanin. Every group has been blessed with its advantages.

But we don't know ours or how to use them - for us. Of course, we know that "Black don't crack." You say it with pride and sometimes a "We got this!" kind of smile. But why? What is this black melanin molecule really doing? What else in us "don't crack?"

Melanin is in our eyes, ears, and brains. Could it be that they "don't crack" as well?

Black families need to know.

We don't control the schools, so they won't teach you and our children about our God-given blessings and advantages. You know what happens to your blessings that you don't use!
