Afiya Madzimoyo

Wekesa Madzimoyo and Afiya Madzimoyo are educators, community leaders, and lifelong advocates for African-centered education. In 1998, they founded the AYA Educational Institute with a vision of creating learning environments that nurture cultural identity, academic excellence, and community responsibility.

AYA has grown into a dynamic educational institute serving youth, families, and educators through in-person and online programs. Together, the Madzimoyos have dedicated their lives to empowering families, mentoring future leaders, and supporting communities in reclaiming responsibility for the education and development of their children.

Through their work at AYA, they continue to guide programs that inspire Afrikans to grow as warriors, healers, and builders within their families, communities, and the world.
